The recognition of the status of disabled worker
In France, a person may contact the public body called in French Commission des Droits et de l’Autonomie: CDAPH, to request and obtain a recognition of the status of disabled worker ( called in French RQTH: Reconnaissance de la qualité de travailleur handicapé).
It is the Commission des Droits et de l’Autonomie, CDAPH which recognises the status of disabled worker in France. In every French Department there is a single point to facilitate the coverage formalities for disabled adults, called in French Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées, MDPH.
An employer may receive :
- aids for the recruitment of disabled workers in the form of wage subsidies
- and subsidies for the workstation layout.
These subsidies are given by a public body called in French Agefiph, Association nationale de gestion du fonds pour l’insertion professionnelle des travailleurs handicapés.
The medical supervision is strengthened for the disabled workers.
There are special rules in case of dismissal of a disabled worker.
A disabled worker can retire before the legal retirement age and is entitled to receive a full pension if he fulfils the required conditions.
An employee may inform or not his employer of his recognition of the status of disabled worker.
