Medical supervision for the young workers

When the worker is underaged (under 18), the medical surveillance is necessary strenghtened so that he undergoes a medical examniation every 12 months or 24 months. The physician decides their frequency.  

When there is a strenghtened medical supervision, the pre-recruitment medical examination does take place before the employee starts working for the enterprise and the periodical medical checks takes place every 12 months or every 24 months : the occupational doctor can decide to change the frequency of the medical examinations according to the recommendations for good practices which are available in health at work.

Strenghtened medical supervision is called “Surveillance médicale renforcée” in French.

In some occupational fields, night work is allowed for young workers : according to the French labor Code, medical examination takes place every 6 months for an employee  who has a night work.
