When the employee is exposed to certain occupational risks, physical, chemical or biological, the medical supervision has to be strengthened. Until 2012, at least every 12 months, each employee undergo a medical examination with the occupational physician when he was exposed to one of this occupational hazards. Now, the medical examinations may be less common. Indeed, the number of occupational \u00a0physicians<\/a> has reduced,it is difficult to find time for all the medical examinations.<\/p>\n

The French labor code, \u00a0article R 4624-18\u00a0<\/a> defines the strengthened medical supervision :<\/p>\n

1\u00b0 The\u00a0Minors<\/a> (under 18)
\n2\u00b0 The pregnant women<\/a><\/p>\n

3\u00b0 The employees exposed to the following hazards :<\/p>\n

a) asbestos<\/strong>;
\nb) ionizing radiations<\/strong>
\nc) lead<\/strong>,
\nd) hyperbaric conditions<\/strong>,
\ne) noise<\/strong>,
\nf) vibrations<\/strong>,
\ng) biological agents<\/strong> groups 3 and 4,
\nh)CMR, Carcinogenic, mutagenic, reprotoxic category 1 and cat\u00e9gory 2.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only A category\u00a0 employees have a strengthened medical supervision, while B category employees have a simple medical supervision. But for the A category employees, the medical examination is necessary annual.<\/span><\/p>\n

The French labor code,article R4451-84\u00a0<\/a> clarifies this point.<\/p>\n

The employer classifies the workers in category A if they may receive, in the usual working conditions, an effective dose greater than 6 mSv a year<\/strong> ( between 6 and 20 mSv a year) or an equivalent dose greater<\/strong> ( according to theFrench labor code\u00a0article R 4451-13<\/a>\u00a0which defines the\u00a0annual limits of exhibition)<\/p>\n
