It is not possible to split them.<\/li>\n<li>The father can choose a paternity leave <strong>less than 11 days<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The paternity leave must begin <strong>within 4 months <\/strong>following\u00a0birth.\u00a0<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The paternity leave\u00a0<strong>comes on top of the 3 authorized absence days\u00a0<\/strong>scheduled by the employer for a birth ( according to the French labour code, article <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichCodeArticle.do?idArticle=LEGIARTI000006902669&amp;cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050&amp;dateTexte=20140503&amp;oldAction=rechCodeArticle&amp;fastReqId=323779469&amp;nbResultRech=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">L. 3142-1<\/a> )<\/li>\n<li>The paternity leave can begin \u00a0imm\u00e9diately after these 3 days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">Daily allowances are paid by Social security funds to the father only if the paternity leave is taken within 4 months\u00a0following birth.<\/p>\n<p><script async
