{"id":2540,"date":"2014-01-05T22:00:59","date_gmt":"2014-01-05T21:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.atousante.org\/?p=2540"},"modified":"2018-02-19T09:45:09","modified_gmt":"2018-02-19T07:45:09","slug":"individuals-post-exposure-medical-surveillance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.atousante.com\/en\/individuals-post-exposure-medical-surveillance\/","title":{"rendered":"Individuals concerned by post-exposure medical surveillance"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>A workers who has been exposed to carcinogenic agents or processes or certain mineral dusts as part of his occupational activity is entitled to post-exposure medical surveillance which is free of charge.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#lien1\">Who can benefit from a post-occupational surveillance ?<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#lien2\">The role of the Primary Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse Primaire d&#8217;Assurance Maladie (CPAM)<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#lien3\">Tables of occupational disease<\/a>s<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">This post-exposure medical surveillance, which is granted on submission of a &#8220;attestation d\u2019exposition&#8221; filled in by the employer and the occupational physician, is provided according to prescriptions from the individual\u2019s general practitioner<\/p>\n<p>For some occupational cancers, the time limit compensation claim is very long that is why a post-occupational surveillance has been introduced for people \u00a0who were exposed during their occupational activity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to <strong>carcinogens<\/strong> which are present in <strong>occupational tables<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>or to <strong>carcinogenic category 1 or 2\u00a0<\/strong>( according to the french labor code R.4411-3 et R.4412-54 ).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Carcinogenic category 1 <\/strong>:<br \/>\n&#8220;Substances that are known to be carcinogenic to humans (sufficient information is available to establish the existence of a relationship of cause and effect between human exposure to such substances and the occurrence of a cancer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Carcinogenic cat\u00e9gory 2<\/strong>:<br \/>\n&#8220;Suspected human carcinogens\u00a0&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.prc.cnrs-gif.fr\/spip.php?article69&amp;lang=fr\" class=\"broken_link\">CMR list in european legislation.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien1\"><\/a>Who can benefit from a post-occupational surveillance ?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Individuals exposed to certain <strong>mineral dusts<\/strong> (art. D. 461-23 of the French Social Security Code).<br \/>\nAn individual who is no longer exposed to an occupational risk that might give rise to an occupational disease mentioned on the lists 25, 44, 91 and 94 is entitled to post-occupational surveillance<strong> every five years<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li>Individuals exposed to <strong>carcinogenic agents<\/strong><br \/>\nEmployees who have been exposed to carcinogenic agents or processes as part of their occupational activity are entitled to post-exposure medical surveillance.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>inactive persons<\/strong>, <strong>job seekers<\/strong> and <strong>retired people<\/strong> who have been exposed during their occupational activity to such hazards can also benefit from\u00a0\u00a0post-occupational surveillance every two years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span class=\"bloc-important\">For the employees who are still at work, et were exposed in the past \u00a0to carcinogenics category 1 or category 2, it is the occupational physician who makes the post-exposure medical surveillance.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien2\"><\/a>The role of the Primary Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse Primaire d&#8217;Assurance Maladie (CPAM)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Primary Sickness Insurance Fund (Caisse Primaire d&#8217;Assurance Maladie (CPAM)\u00a0gives an appropriate medial care \u00a0to every person who asks for one.<\/li>\n<li>This surveillance is granted on submission of a document called &#8220;<strong>attestation d&#8217;exposition&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0and since 2012 called in French \u00ab <strong>Fiche de pr\u00e9vention des expositions,\u00a0<\/strong>filled in by the employer and the occupational physician : this\u00a0document certifies that the worker has previously been exposed to occupational hazards.<\/li>\n<li>The physician is paid for the post-exposure medical surveillance by the health and social action fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"lien3\"><\/a>Tables of occupational diseases<\/h3>\n<p>In case of exposure to a hazard contained in this tables of occupational diseases, during the occupational activity, post-exposure medical surveillance is possible<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Table # 6 Occupational diseases caused by ionising radiation<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Table #10 TER Cancers caused by chromic acid, chromates, alkaline or alkaline earth bichromates and zinc chromate<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Table #15TER : Bladder lesions caused by aromatic amines and their salts<\/li>\n<li>Table #16BIS : Cancers caused by \u00a0tars, oils, coal pitch and soot from \u00a0coal.<\/li>\n<li>Table #20 : Occupational diseases caused by\u00a0arsenic and its mineral compounds<\/li>\n<li>Table #20BIS :\u00a0Primary bronchogenic carcinoma caused by inhalation of arsenical dusts or vapours .<\/li>\n<li>Table #20TER : \u00a0Primary bronchogenic carcinoma caused by\u00a0inhalation of dusts or vapours containing<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>auriferous pyrite.<\/li>\n<li>Table #25 : \u00a0Occupational diseases caused by\u00a0inhalation of mineral dusts containing crystalline silica ( quartz, cristobalite, tridymite), crystalline silicates ( kaolin, talcum), \u00a0graphite or coal.<\/li>\n<li>Table #30 : Occupational diseases caused by\u00a0inhalation of\u00a0asbestos dusts<\/li>\n<li>Table #30BIS : \u00a0Bronchogenic carcinoma\u00a0caused by\u00a0inhalation of\u00a0asbestos dusts<\/li>\n<li>Table #36BIS: Cancers caused by derived from petroleum<\/li>\n<li>Table #37TER : Cancers caused
