There are two kind of services : inter-company occupational health service (called in French service interentreprise), the service is common to several companies or an integrated\u00a0occupational health service, which is set up by an\u00a0employer\u00a0in his own \u00a0company, who wants his own internal service, (called in French service autonome).\u00a0Occupational medical service\u00a0is an independent private organization,\u00a0under the\u00a0responsibility of the ministry in charge of Labour.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"#lien1\">Inter-company occupational health services services ( called in French services interentreprises)<\/a><br \/>\nI<a href=\"#lien2\">ntegrated\u00a0occupational health services (called in French services autonomes)<br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"#lien3\">The missions of occupational health services<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Occupational risk prevention in France, under the\u00a0responsibility of the ministry in charge of Labour\u00a0is a dual system : State authorities on one\u00a0side, and Social Security on the other\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.atousante.com\/en\/occupational-accidents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(occupational accidents<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.atousante.com\/en\/occupational-diseases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">diseases\u00a0sector<\/a>).<a href=\"http:\/\/www.atousante.com\/actualites\/organisation-fonctionnement-services-sante-travail-modifications-decret-janvier-2012\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien1\"><\/a>Inter-company occupational health services ( called in French services interentreprises)<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The inter-company health services are\u00a0common to several enterprises.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>They provide medical surveillance for <strong>90 percent of employees<\/strong>,\u00a0whose exclusive purpose is occupational health-care.<\/li>\n<li>They are\u00a0not-for-profit organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Doctors are on salary<\/strong> in these services.<\/p>\n<p>Each company has<strong> to pay contributions to this service<\/strong> for its employees, to have medical surveillance and working conditions monitoring for them. It is not necessary if the company has still its own integrated occupational health department.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Governance in these inter-company services<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\nIt is a joint governance in these services<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a <strong>president<\/strong> representing the employers,<\/li>\n<li>a<strong> treasurer<\/strong> representing the employees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A <strong>control committee<\/strong>\u00a0is presided by an employee representative<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The multidisciplinary team provide the\u00a0missions of the occupational health service<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to the French Labour Code ( \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichCodeArticle.do?idArticle=LEGIARTI000024396461&amp;cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050&amp;dateTexte=20120717&amp;oldAction=rechCodeArticle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">article L 4622-8 <\/a>), the members of this team are :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>occupational health physician ( who manages the team),<\/li>\n<li>occupational health nurse,<\/li>\n<li>stakeholders in\u00a0prevention of occupational risks,<\/li>\n<li>psychologist,<\/li>\n<li>ergonomist, etc<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0A project service is compulsory\u00a0\u00a0in an inter-company service<\/span><\/strong> : it is carried out by the medical technical committee<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien2\"><\/a>Integrated\u00a0occupational health services\u00a0(called in French services autonomes)<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The integrated occupational health services provide medical surveillance for\u00a0<strong>10 percent of employees.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>They are administered by the employer.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The occupational doctor is on salary in the company.<\/li>\n<li>An integrated health service is specific for a company : it is permitted \u00a0only if the enterprise employes <strong>more than 500 workers<\/strong> ( according to the French Labour Code\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichCodeArticle.do?idArticle=LEGIARTI000025280071&amp;cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050&amp;dateTexte=20120717&amp;oldAction=rechCodeArticle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">article D4622-5 <\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>When an employer has the choice between an inter-company occupational health service or to create his own integrated occupational health service,\u00a0he has to make his own choice<\/strong>\u00a0(according to the French Labor Code <a href=\"http:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichCodeArticle.do;jsessionid=5F7BBFB86086234D453E436793729757.tpdjo08v_2?idArticle=LEGIARTI000025280243&amp;cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050&amp;dateTexte=20120717&amp;categorieLien=id\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">article D4622-2<\/a>\u00a0).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien4\"><\/a>\u00a0The missions of occupational health services<\/h3>\n<p>The \u00a0missions are defined in French Labour Code with\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/affichCodeArticle.do?idArticle=LEGIARTI000024396438&amp;cidTexte=LEGITEXT000006072050&amp;dateTexte=20120717&amp;oldAction=rechCodeArticle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"broken_link\">article L 4622-2 <\/a>:<\/p>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">The occupational health services have an exclusive mission : \u00a0to prevent deterioration of health by harmful influences at work.<\/p>\n<p>The Occupational health services must :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>undertake activities\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>to preserv the physical and mental health of workers throughout their professional careers,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u00a0advise the employers, the workers and their representatives to\u00a0<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>avoid or reduce the occupational risks,<\/li>\n<li>improve the working conditions,<\/li>\n<li>prevent the addictions, use of alcohol or drugs in the work place,<\/li>\n<li>prevent or reduce \u00a0painfulness of work and\u00a0occupational deintegration,<\/li>\n<li>contribute to help\u00a0workers to keep their jobs,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>monitore health status of workers <\/strong>\u00a0according to\n<ul>\n<li>risks related to their security and health at work ,<\/li>\n<li>the painfulness of work,<\/li>\n<li>and their age,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>contribute to the\u00a0traceability
