A lot of epidemiological studies have shown reproductive disorders among welders.<!--more--><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"#lien1\">Possible role of exposure to heat on reproduction<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#lien2\">Possible role of boron exposure on reproduction<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#lien3\">Possible role of cadmium exposure on reproduction<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"#lien4\">Possible role of chromium exposure on reproduction<br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"#lien5\">Possible role of nickel and manganese exposure on reproduction<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Generally, the studies speak about the welding but give no details about the welding technique . However, there are two different welding techniques\u00a0\u00a0:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>brazing<\/strong> : the filler metal and the base metal are different,<\/li>\n<li><strong>TIG, MIG weldings<\/strong> : \u00a0the base metal and the welding cord are the same however the temp\u00e9rature is more higher than for brazing eand workers are exposed \u00a0to metal fumes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">The welders are subjected to\u00a0multiple exposure, depending on the welding technique.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien3\"><\/a>\u00a0Possible role of exposure to heat\u00a0on reproduction<\/h3>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">\u00a0The heat is the main cause of reproductive disorders amog welders ( \u00a0found in the\u00a0scientific literature).<\/p>\n<p>It is not the ambient temperature which is in issue but the <strong>temperature which results from\u00a0infrared radiation around the testicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oligospermia<\/strong>\u00a0is often found in the welders.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien4\"><\/a>\u00a0Possible role of boron exposure on reproduction<\/h3>\n<p>Since 1972,\u00a0this effect was seen\u00a0in the rat<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"bloc-important\">Boron is classified as probably reprotoxic in Europe, since 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At high levels, boron causes<strong>\u00a0testicular atrophy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien5\"><\/a>Possible role of\u00a0cadmium exposure on reproduction<\/h3>\n<p>Since 2011, Europe has forbidden cadmium in the welding cords.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bloc-important\">The\u00a0scientific literature demonstrates that cadmium is reprotoxic : it decreases hormone production and movements of\u00a0spermatozoids.<\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"lien6\"><\/a>\u00a0Possible role of chromium exposure on reproduction<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Chromium <\/strong>is present in\u00a0stainless steels\u00a0(stainless still is composed of \u00a0iron and carbon, \u00a0however to be stainlees, it must contain at least 10% chromimum)<br \/>\nStainless stills are welded with TIG technique.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chromium is reprotoxic through various m\u00e9chanisms<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>decreases<strong> testosterone secretion,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>disturbs the movements of spermatozoids,<\/li>\n<li>decreases the concentration of spermatozoids,<\/li>\n<li>oxidative stress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><a name=\"lien7\"><\/a>\u00a0Possible role of nickel and manganese exposure on reproduction<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Nickel<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>\u00a0mangan\u00e8se<\/strong>\u00a0are known to cause reproductive disorders among welders.<br \/>\n<script async
